The Premier Sports Campus (PSC) in Lakewood Ranch will host its annual Labor Day weekend tournament from Aug. 30 through Sept. 1, and it’s slated to be one of the biggest of the year. Soccer players, parents and spectators from all over the state of Florida, and as far away as Georgia, will converge at the PSC for the Chargers Soccer Club’s 2014 Labor Day Showcase.

3 Reasons Mortgage Demand Is Dropping


Fixed-rate mortgages sank to the lowest average of the year last week, yet mortgage origination activity remains lackluster. Why aren’t more home buyers taking advantage of the lower borrowing costs?

In a recent blog post, Freddie Mac analysts point to three main factors behind the decrease in mortgage originations:

  1. The refinancing boom has ended. From 2013 to 2014, mortgage applications for refinancings have fallen about 60 percent. Freddie Mac projects refinance applications will drop by another 50 percent from 2014 to 2015. When mortgage rates rise—as they are expected to soon—borrowers will have less incentive to refinance. Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club will host their 11th bridal open house on Friday, September 12th, from 6 – 8 p.m.   The showcase will present wedding vendors to brides and their guests.  There is a $5.00 admission fee to attend the Bridal Open House.  All proceeds will be donated to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York in memory of the terrorist attacks.  You must RSVP to the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club catering sales office by Friday, September 5th, at 941-907-3033.
